Spent some time in Stanley Park in Vancouver before heading off to Nanaimo. This is the halfway point.. from here, it's about heading home.

We crossed this bridge the day before, but I was concentrating on the structure. Here's what it looks like from the passenger's perspective.
I thought I was looking at downtown Vancouver... thought.
Amazing to find agriculture so close to a big city.
Vancouver is a farily pleasant city, and they've got such a pretty background.
Downtown Vancouver from a slight distance (sorry for the wires and such in the way.
Another street-level shot of Vancouver.
A fairly typical Vancouver building.. I like the way they break up the squareness with a bit of curve.
These boots were apparently not made for walking ... at least not anymore.
A slightly better shot of downtown Vancouver.
With a really wide angle lens, it looka like the buildings are tilty - they're not really though.
If I had a full photo editor with me, I'd have straightened out the perspective.
A rather impressive church.
Things are looking up.
Buildings, meet sky. Sky, meet buildings.
More tilty buildings courtesy of wide angle lens distortion.
Okay, last one of the tilty buildings.
I just loved the pattern of cracks.
An odd little lighthouse in Stanley Park.
Looking out from underneath the quirky little lighthouse.
Curving stairway in Stanley Park.
Sea plane tours are apparently quite big here.
Lion's gate bridge taken from the shoreline at Stanley Park.
Lion's Gate Bridge again.
Looking straight up at Lion's Gate Bridge.
Fishing and biking are fairly popular at Stanley Park.
A lone fisherman.
Another angle on Lion's Gate Bridge.
Big ships moving about off Vancouver.
Patrolling the waters off Stanley Park.
Personally, I prefer sailing.
There was a fairly decnet breeze, but the sail boat was motoring along. it may be that the navigation channels are kind of narrow and don't allow for tacking (zig zagging needed to sail into the wind).
Stanley Park shore with some of Vancouver in the background.
These racoons were quite friendly... at least if you had a pocket full of snacks.
Okay last shot of Lion's Gate Bridge... honest.
Not entirely sure if that's some delivery van version of a Smart Car or if it's some other micro city-car. I kind of like it.
I like tunnels.
Control tower for the Ferry terminal.
Extreme close-up of the base of a light post. Note the grounding strap? That's probably because these poles are among the highest points at the ferry terminal.
Cargo cranes and containers... more color than I'd have expected.
More cargo cranes.
Passengers settle in on Deck 7 as the ferry is about to get under way.
Empty ferry berths.
She seems quite content.
