Rickety wooden staircase leading back up to a small parking area
I title my photos with the original image name so I can always know exactly where to find it, but if I were to use descriptive titles, this one would be "Medusa". I swear it has a face!
One of the more interesting pieces of driftwood... reminds me of a spaceship
Looking away from that little bridge
Some more driftwood on the sand
Looks like someone set up this driftwood. It's surprising how much of it has been burned (or someone attempted to burn)
A surprising little pool
This bridge caught my attention, so I pulled over, and discovered a lovely little beach with several interesting photo possibilities
We came over a hill on the road, and I saw this rather interesting bit of river.
The high street in Gaspe, QC
The little red lighthouse is so intensely red. I did no special photo processing except to bring up the saturation and vibrancy. I think it almost looks like a painting like that
This is the coastline near the little red lighthouse
Lots of these old anchors and other nautical stuff are on display in front yards and at public spots. This one was pretty huge.
This little red lighthouse was along the coastline - it's actually up the side of a hill. There's a small lighthouse museum thing there, but we just parked and shot some photos
Rusty old anchor chain... pretty much bonded to the anchor at this point
Lighthouses are supposed to warn ships off the rocks... I guess they mean THESE rocks
Rock, Sky, and Sea
These rocks are between low and high tide line... lots of little (sometimes smelly) pools with various tidal flora
Lonely driftwood
Looking up from the base of a lighthouse
This was some kind of museum building... no idea what the cage-like things on the roof are
Buoy and lighthouse
Buoys look a bit funny out of water
Buoy 198... could do with a bit of paint (processed in PhotoShop)
Is this flotsam or jetsam?
Cute little boat
The dock and these boats are patiently waiting for high tide
I guess this is used as some kind of mooring point during high tide
Rocks and water. There's just something about boundaries
I just really liked the tire and the coloration of the rocks
Rocks with the St. Lawrence in the background
Low tide on the St. Lawrence... a small inlet that caught our eye
These little bright orange, purple, and yellow flowers were all along the boardwalk
Low tide at a small inlet
This was the church that caught our attention and caused us to detour through the little town
Something struck me about this little garage
We spied some really cool looking church-looking thing off in the distance in a small town along the road. This wasn't it, but we found this along the way.
Along Route 20
Nice little water feature at the Levesque Hotel in Riviere-du-Loup
Bigger water feature and a bridge
The Levesque Hotel in Riviere-du-Loup
Outside the Levesque Hotel in Riviere-du-Loup
The sign for the hotel where we're staying
The motel across the street from ours had a nice, classic sign that I named "Blinky"
My first attempt at a night shot
Some rusty farm equipment found on the side of the road in Quebec
Someone could probably really get this thing back into shape if they tried
Highly processed version - tried to make this look dreamy/old-timey. It's still not as good as the photo my friend Toots Mutant took though.
Remarkably good condition for such an old car just sitting on the side of the road
