I've walked past this bridge abuttment a hundred times, and this was the first time I noticed all the texture going on with the fungus that seems to have taken root there.
So many of the tractors, engines, and whatsits were fully restored, but I really liked the rust on this piece. Taken at Antique Engine and Tractor Show - Somers, CT, US

It appears that while fully functional, this engine hasn't gotten the "full treatment" yet. Taken at Antique Engine and Tractor Show - Somers, CT, US

Highly processed version - tried to make this look dreamy/old-timey. It's still not as good as the photo my friend Toots Mutant took though.
Remarkably good condition for such an old car just sitting on the side of the road
Someone could probably really get this thing back into shape if they tried
Some rusty farm equipment found on the side of the road in Quebec
Something struck me about this little garage
Buoy 198... could do with a bit of paint (processed in PhotoShop)
Buoys look a bit funny out of water
Buoy and lighthouse
Rusty old anchor chain... pretty much bonded to the anchor at this point
This little red lighthouse was along the coastline - it's actually up the side of a hill. There's a small lighthouse museum thing there, but we just parked and shot some photos
Lots of these old anchors and other nautical stuff are on display in front yards and at public spots. This one was pretty huge.
Standing on the pedestrian walkway on this charming two-lane "singing" bridge
Taken during sunset, this is the opposite side of the river from Miramichi
A rusted old winch
An old rusting barge on the shore of the Miramichi River
Part of an old rusting barge on the side of the Miramichi River
An old abandoned general store. I spoke with a gentleman named Fred who was taking care of the lawn. He says a couple recently purchased it and are planning on doing some renovation, but he wasn't sure if it was going to be commercial or residential.
Although it looks like a massive structure, this rusting post is only about four feet high. I got the effect by going REALLY wide and getting about 9" or less away from it with my camera.
Part of the base of a handrail... over the years, it's built up quite a few layers of rust and paint.
An abandoned restaurant
This seaside cemetery has got a lot of old gravestones. I liked the intricate metalworking on this one. Personally, I think the rust gives it a bit of character.
Apparently, this boat was abandoned quite some time ago
Something tells me this boat isn't going anywhere any time soon
Closeup of a rusty bridge support. The bridge goes over a rather dry streambed
I liked the colors here
Not exactly sure what that spiky looking gear on the boat was... looks like its for combing the bottom.
The Point Chebucto docked at Halifax Harbor
I think they're some old navigational markers... pretty crusty.
Balls of Iron... no, REALLY.
I sort of picture this as a flowing mane of hair... or would that be chain of hair? I dunno, I'm being silly, but they sure are rusty.
Crusty!
Chains, rocks, and navigational aids... OOH, it's a party!
Old drum and nets. This one was a drive-by retake. (I had to stop and back up because I almost missed it.)
This wooden post had such an interesting pattern to its decay.
A spider hole... :)
I just loved the color contrasts here
There's just something about rusty, crusty metalic objects that compells me to press the shutter release
